Wow, it’s been three years of knowing Thomas. He’s my heart horse.
Not just that I love him and we have that connection/ but for three years he has held my heart while we ride, each time giving it back a little lighter. We spent months just walking that first winter – for him it was a matter of working on being calm and patient and for me it was the same.
He literally was my legs when I couldn’t see my way to moving around if it weren’t for him. I trusted him completely even when his exuberance was even worrying my trainer. He never gives less than his best.
When COVID shut down the barn it meant a month or so without seeing him. I’ll never forget how he pressed his forehead to mine when we met again.
Life and COVID have out Thomas in a series of starts and stops training-wise. We have decided to go at our own pace and in our own way. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
